Youth Champion

Keshawn Thompson

A youth who has continually set and achieved goals in an effort to reach their full potential and inspire their peers to do the same.

Youth Conqueror

Synthia Ramos

An outstanding youth who has overcome adversity and challenges to turn their trajectory of life toward setting and achieving goals to reach their full potential and inspires their peers to do the same.

Inspiration Award

Jose Hernandez

Teacher/community worker/counselor/coach who has inspired Tempe youth to live to their full potential.

Advocate Award

 

 

Tempe Chamber of Commerce

Organization or non-profit who advocates for programs, policies, laws to help provide Tempe Youth with an environment where they can live to their full potential.

Protector Award

Detective Daniel Bennett

First Responder who works in Tempe, with extensive service advocating tirelessly to provide a safe environment where Tempe Youth can achieve their full potential.

The Tempe Coalition sought three outstanding adult community members to be recognized at the event. There will be three awards given:

  • Advocate Award
    • Organization or non-profit who advocates for programs, policies, laws to help provide Tempe Youth with an environment where they can live to their full potential
  • Inspiration Award
    • Teacher/community worker/counselor/coach who has inspired Tempe youth to live to their full potential
  • Protector Award
    • First responder who works in Tempe, with extensive service advocating tirelessly to provide a safe environment where Tempe Youth can achieve their full potential

The criteria for the nominees are adults that have taken action or service of having made a significant impact to reduce youth risk behaviors and promote health and wellness through awareness, education, advocacy and connecting to community resources.

    • Nominee's service or action must directly impact youth who live, work, or attend a school within the Tempe school boundaries (Tempe Elementary, Kyrene or Tempe Union).
    • Organizations or individuals should serve as a role model for achieving full potential in life; and be striving to make Tempe a better place for youth to reach their full potential.
    • This can be a one-time event, ongoing service, or simple act of kindness.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to the Tempe youth community and serves to inspire and lead.

In addition, the Tempe Coalition sought two outstanding youth to be recognized at the event. There will be two awards given:

    • An outstanding individual who has overcome adversity and challenges to turn their trajectory of life toward setting and achieving goals to reach their full potential and inspires their peers to do the same

The criteria for the nominees are youth that have made a significant impact serving as a role model or overcoming adversity to inspire their peers.

    • Nominees must live in Tempe or attend school within the Tempe Schools Boundaries (Tempe Elementary, Kyrene or Tempe Union) between the ages of 12-19.
    • Has demonstrated adversity and overcome challenges to inspire others.
    • A youth that has gone above and beyond serving as a role model to their peers with ongoing service or one-time event.
    • Characteristics should include; kind, respectful, self-motivated, inclusive, and willing to share their story as a resource to other youth.
