Triple T – 7/28/20

Good morning my friends! Hope you are all doing well today. Can you believe we are only a few days away from August. WHAAAT? Unbelievable.

We still don’t have final answers on kids going back to school…..when, how? It’s frustrating for all but let’s not forget how hard this must be for the youth themselves. Missing their friends. Missing their activities. Remember that many of our youth don’t even have computers to do online learning. Many of our youth don’t feel safe in their homes and school was a safe haven for them. Yes, I hear that one alot!

Well, I am “attending” the CADCA conference this week, virtually. I should be in Nashville along with four other coalition members, but we are all attending the conference online. They have done a great job, but for me, the joy was always in the networking. Hanging out with my prevention tribe from all over the country. Yes I am a prevention nerd and I miss my peeps! In a bit I will get to hear the Surgeon General and pretty stoked about that.

I encourage you all to go to our events page and sign up for our Understanding Prescription Drug Misuse workshop tomorrow from 4 – 5 pm. Go to https://rx360.eventbrite.com to sign up. On August 4 from 9 to 11 am we will have a training on dealing with opioid overdoses. This workshop is limited to 30 participants and we will give out nasal Narcan to the attendees upon completion of the training. Go to https://tempecoalitionoverdose.eventbrite.com to register for that.

And this Saturday August 1st is when we will be launching the nominations for our Celebrating Champions For Youth event to be held virtually on November 18th. Look to our home page this Saturday to learn more about the 4 awards we will be giving out this year and how you can nominate someone to be one of our champions this year!

Well I have got to get back to my conference. I wish you all a safe, healthy and happy week. It’s hot out there! Keep cool, literally and figuratively.
